The common types of starter one-way clutches are roller type, spring type, and friction plate type.
The roller type one-way clutch is mainly composed of a driving gear, a housing, a cross groove sleeve, rollers, and springs. It achieves engagement and separation by changing the position of the rollers in the wedge-shaped groove, with exquisite construction and easy operation.
The spring type one-way clutch relies on the radial contraction and relaxation of the torsion spring to achieve engagement and disengagement. It has the characteristics of simple structure, long service life, and low cost, and is widely used in various types of mechanical equipment.
Friction plate one-way clutch is achieved through the compression and relaxation of the main and driven friction plates to achieve engagement and disengagement. The maximum torque it transmits can be adjusted by adding or reducing adjusting shims, with excellent adaptability and adjustability.
These three forms of one-way clutches play an important role in automotive starters. Roller type one-way clutch can accurately control engagement and disengagement, while spring type one-way clutch is favored for its simplicity, reliability, and low cost advantages. The adjustability of friction plate one-way clutch enables it to better adapt to different working needs.
In practical applications, different forms of one-way clutches will be selected according to the specific model and usage environment of the car to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the starter motor, providing strong guarantees for the smooth start of the car.
